    What is Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care?

Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care consists of primary care clinics that can be found throughout the Metroplex; each clinic is conveniently located in your neighborhood Tom Thumb. The clinics are operated by the health care system’s affiliate, HealthTexas Provider Network (HTPN), a multi-specialty medical group that employs more than 1,300 providers practicing in the North Texas area.

    Why did Baylor Scott & White collaborate with Tom Thumb?

Just like Baylor Scott & White and HealthTexas Provider Network, Tom Thumb has served the North Texas area for decades – with 62 stores under the Tom Thumb banner. Tom Thumb shares Baylor Scott & White’s mission for providing additional access to quality health care when and where it’s needed.

    Where are the clinics located?

The clinics are located directly next to the pharmacy in Tom Thumb stores at the below locations. Note: some clinics have not yet opened:

  • Open March 28 – Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care – Oak Cliff, 315 S. Hampton Road, Dallas, Texas 75208
  • Open April 11 – Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care – Arlington, 2611 W. Park Row, Arlington, Texas 76013
  • Open April 25 – Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care – North Arlington, 2755 N. Collins, Arlington, Texas 76006
  • Open May 9 – Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care – Ridglea Hills, 6377 Camp Bowie Blvd., Ft. Worth Texas, 76116
  • Open May 23 – Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care – Mansfield, 980 Highway North 287, Mansfield, Texas 76063

    What are the hours of the clinics? Will all clinics have the same hours?

The clinics will be open seven days a week during the below hours. All clinics will have the same hours.

  • Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Saturday 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Sunday 12 p.m.-6 p.m.

    Why were these locations selected? Will new locations be added?

Baylor Scott & White chose these locations after a robust market analysis. The health care system continues to strive to create new and innovative access to care for its established patients, as well as introduce the health system to new patients in multiple markets. Baylor Scott & White strives to be the preferred health system for patients and employers in North Texas. These are initial sites, and Baylor Scott & White will continue to explore the possibility of opening additional clinics.

    Who will work in the clinics?

There will be one advanced practice provider (APP) and one medical assistant on-site at all times.

    Do the clinics accept walk-ins or do I have to make an appointment?

The clinics will accept walk-ins and scheduled appointments. Currently, the best way to make an appointment is to call 469.800.8810. Additional information will be added soon to BSWConvenientCare.com.

    What services do the clinics offer?

Baylor Scott & White Convenient Care Clinics will offer services including treating minor illnesses and injuries, chronic disease management, immunizations, physicals and health screenings. In addition, any patient that receives care at the clinics will be connected to the greater network of primary care and specialty care physicians via HTPN’s electronic health record system.

    Will the clinics be equipped for emergency care?

The clinics are not meant to manage emergencies. If you feel like you’re experiencing an emergency, please visit an appropriate emergency location or call 911.

    How do I know if my insurance is accepted?

Each clinic accepts most insurance and all insurance that a traditional HTPN primary care clinic would accept. The easiest way to verify coverage is to call 469.800.8810.

    What will my co-pay be at the clinics?

Co-pays vary by insurance, but the co-pay at the clinics will mirror what is paid by the patient at other primary care locations.

    What if I don’t have health insurance? Are cash visits accepted?

While actual cash is not accepted, patients may pay via personal check or credit card.

    How will Baylor Scott & White and Tom Thumb avoid getting healthy shoppers sick while visiting grocery stores where the clinics are located?

Clinics are behind closed doors next to Tom Thumb pharmacies. The locations are meant to be nonintrusive to Tom Thumb shoppers, away from high foot traffic areas and grocery store operations.
